Abstract
In this paper the hydro potential suitable for electrical power generation available in coastal area of Bangladesh is investigated and developed a model for total possible electrical power generation using tidal barrage and low head water turbine. The result shows that the possible generation would contribute significantly to improve the reliability of Bangladesh Power System (BPS) by reducing load shedding and this paper will encourage the BPS planner to setup the generating plant with erecting the barrage. It is also investigated that the barrage will put a great impact for the improvement of socio-economic condition of the local people.
