  • Abstract
    Accurate estimation of state-of-the-charge (SOC) in electrochemical batteries and ultra-capacitors forms an integral part of any effective energy management systems in mobile and stationary energy storage systems. Of particular interest is high resolution estimates of SOC when undercharging or overcharging may occur. The present paper provides an online detection technique based on impulse response technique and equivalent circuit techniques for estimation of SOC with high resolution. This will result in a more effective usage of the battery packages by high fidelity opportunity charging.
