Abstract :
The paper presents decoupled generating system equipped with induction generator and reactive power compensator. The feature of induction generator is reactive power demand that depends on instantaneous active power. Since active power of wind turbine varies, therefore follow-up control of reactive power compensator is desirable. Such a compensator control allows power factor to be kept high and constant. The paper shows proposed control structure. The generating system computer model is presented. Moreover laboratory results carried out using 7.5 kW induction generator has been successfully performed and are presented.
