  • Abstract
The paper deals with the performance of delta-inverter fed BACM drives under vector control, in an attempt to investigate the possibility of their integration in traction systems. Following the description and the modeling of the delta-inverter fed BACM drive, a dedicated vector control strategy is proposed. A simulation based investigation of the drive performance is carried out. It has been found that, beyond the improvement of the cost-effectiveness and compactness, the drive offers high dynamic and steady-state performance.
