Abstract
We present a technique to eliminate bifurcations of co dimension one, like saddle-node, transcritical, pitchfork and Hopf. The control technique is based on sliding mode control and guarantees the existence of only one asymptotically equilibrium point in a sufficiently big vicinity of the bifurcation point of the open loop system. Also this technique is used to eliminate a saddle-node bifurcation in a power system. The results are illustrated numerically.
