Abstract
This paper proposes a benchmarking method for various real-time operating systems (RTOSs) coupled with different embedded central processing units (CPUs). It also gives a brief description on the existing benchmarking methods for embedded processors and RTOSs. Here, we present an algorithm along with the obtained results in tabular and graphical formats. Currently, we have found results for RTX kernel ported on lpc2148 and lpc1768 CPUs. Although, this paper does not exhaustively document all processors but it suggests a method to benchmark the CPU-RTOS couple used by the embedded designer.
