Abstract
Pneumatic conveying has many advantages over other material transport options, including flexibility in design, fewer wear parts, lower maintenance costs, minimized dust problems, and higher system availability. However, pneumatic conveying systems typically require more energy than mechanical systems, particularly when the system is not optimally designed. It is possible to significantly reduce energy consumption and operating costs by implementing small system improvements that increase efficiency.
