Abstract :
A collision detection algorithm based on the improvement of K-DOPS is presented in this paper, traditional collision detection algorithms can only detect an immediate impact but can not predict the collision, the bounding box of the k-DOPS is optimized in the proposed algorithm of this paper, so that it can detect the potential collision area (adjacent portions), meanwhile it can increase the detection rate. In this paper, part of the simulation results clearly demonstrate the effects of clothing scud while model walking by using the algorithm for virtual clothing simulation experiment, it can be seen that taking advantage of this improved collision detection algorithm based on k-DOPS can detect the region of a potential collision well.
