  • Abstract
A simulation framework for performance analysis of optical networks on-chip is proposed. Based on the different physical characteristics of electronic and optical devices, simulation framework employs cycle-based and event-driven simulation methods separately to obtain a cycle-accurate simulation. It adopts the multi-PES (multi-Pending Event Set) to realize the event-driven simulation of optical devices, improving simulation efficiency. And it uses blocked-based design idea to model electronic and optical devices, which increases its scalability. We demonstrate its capabilities through two case studies.
