  • Abstract
By combining the new generation of weather research and prediction model (WRF) and the third generation wave model (WAVEWATCHIII), it established an Atmospheric-Wave numerical forecast system. Adopting the forecasting wind from WRF model as forcing term of wave model, a nested wave model is built from the Western Pacific to coastal areas of China. The verification data is base on the forecasting data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The effective wave height, wave direction and peak period are chosen as the proving objects, simultaneously contrasting forecasting result by National Marine Environmental Forecasting Center of China. The results indicates that the forecat systerm can reflect the wave distribution well.
