Abstract :
Dynamically changing of network topology due to nodes movement is considered as a main challenge in providing reliable and low cost paths in one to many ends communication in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). Motivated by this challenge this paper introduces a Scheduled-Links Multicast Routing (SLMR) based on mobility prediction. SLMR constructs multiple scheduled paths between multicast sources and receivers. SLMR scheduled paths are subject to the reliability and quality of service (QoS) requirements in load balance strategy to reducing energy consumption effect caused by using Global Position System (GPS) to predict mobility parameters in route construction and maintenance processes. During route discovery process, multiple loop-free and node-disjoint paths are constructed for each source-receiver pair. The activation and deactivation of these paths are controlled by Multicast Routing Activation Timer (MRAT) and Path Timeout Timer (PTT). MRAT and PTT are computed according to the route expiration time (RET) for the set of discovering paths. Performance comparison results show high performance of our proposed multicast routing outperforms PUMA and MAODV.
