  • Abstract
    Today decision on every business process is found waiting for an action. Typically approvers are found away from their desks, in meeting or travelling, leading to delay in approvals. Leveraging the high penetration of smart mobile and tablet devices, to make the process user-friendly and convenient to the approver, it was identified to receive notifications on mobile/tablet devices where the user can review the details and take action from wherever he/she is. In this paper, we present a framework to support approvals using mobile devices. This framework seamlessly integrates with Enterprise Systems and works on multiple mobile platforms. Approvers get notified about approval requests on their mobile / tablet device. They can view notification contents including attachments in user friendly screens depending on their mobile / tablet device and then take action while on-the-go. The architecture is modular, integrated, extendible and scalable. The architecture comprises components, protocols, applications and interfaces. This paper describes design of the architecture, its current implementation status, future research and development plans.
