Abstract
A process control loop consists of pneumatic control valve, which has the most long-standing problem caused by stiction. The process output has oscillation due to improper tuning, oscillatory disturbance and valve stiction. The occurrence of stiction in a control valve affects the control loop performance. This paper focused on detection of oscillation due to presence of stiction in a three tank level control process. The interaction and non-interaction processes of three tank systems are simulated with different cases. The proposed work estimates the time period of oscillation have been increased for the system changing form non-interaction to interaction. The stiction has occurred in control valve make the control loop in certain oscillations. Such oscillations would be detected for improving the performance of a control loop. If the valve is under proper maintenance, the valve stiction will be compensated.
