Abstract :
Numerous papers have been published on decouple control of thrust and attraction force in LIM using field oriented control (FOC). Aim of this paper is to present a FOC method in simpler and implementable form so that LIM based drives can be adopted for industrial application. For this purpose indirect secondary flux oriented control (IFOC) method has been simulated in MATLAB/simulink for LIM based conveyor belt test rig. In addition to decouple control of thrust and attraction force, operation above base speed and speed reversal operation which are often required in industry has also been studied and presented.
