Abstract
In this paper, a novel zero voltage switched interleaved flyback converter is proposed for the low power electrical applications that require electrical isolation. The proposed converter adopts the interleaved operation and soft switching technique to reduce the input current ripple, output voltage ripple, the switching losses and reverse recovery losses of diodes resulting in high efficiency. In this paper, the operation and design equations are explained for proposed converter and its performance characteristics are compared with that of conventional hard switched interleaved flyback converter using MATLAB/SIMULINK. It has been demonstrated from the simulation results that the efficiency of the proposed 500W converter is improved by 2.8%.
