Abstract :
Power system especially at the distribution level is prone to failures and disturbances as many devices are responsible for the successful operation of a radial distribution system. The reliability of the system is measured in terms of the indices viz., SAIDI, CAIDI, SAIFI and ANS. In this paper various reliability indices are calculated for the Roy Billinton Test System (RBTS) Bus 2 using Failure Modes and Effects Analysis technique. After calculating the load point indices, individual feeder indices are evaluated there by the system indices which include SAIFI, SAIDI, CAIDI, ASAI, ASUI, ENS and AENS are evaluated for considering the presence and absence of protective devices and alternate supply.
