Abstract :
IMCS UL continues its enduring development of research e-infrastructure, participates in international projects such as GÉANT, GÉANT2, GÉANT3, BalticGRID, BalticGRID II and EGI-InSPIRE. IMCS UL now maintains two GRID clusters, ½ PTB SAN storage with servers; provides colocation, hosting and virtualization services. In the same way IMCS UL supports .LV domain name and CERT services at the national level. In the conference the authors present e-infrastructure´s upgrade project, that anticipates extension of SAN storage up to 1.3 PTB equipment for online correlation data streaming services from Irbene radio telescope in real time, as well as HPC resources´ disposal for computing tasks, using Big data from SAN Storage for modelling and also for graphic data processing. The access to the computing facility is foreseen to be provided as cloud service and the installation is envisaged using open software. In the same way e-infrastructure´s modernization project anticipates to develop IMCS UL´s inclusion in CLARIN, ELIXIR and PRACE ERIC, also to equip researchers´ work places in the following fields: computational linguistics, bioinformatics, semantic WEB, graph processing and IT secured networking research areas. The proposed Unified computing facility disposes as a node in European research and education network GÉANT as research´s e-infrastructure.
