As we are living in the world where Information and Communication Technologies are developing fast and are occupying different spheres of our life it is not surprising that those involved in educational process are making successful efforts to apply the technologies to the process learning-teaching. In this paper we would like to describe the experience accumulated by the team of English language instructors and expert teachers. This experience includes the on-line course on English for Nuclear Safety and Security as a part of a larger process for creating a Community of Practice for Teaching about Nuclear Nonproliferation. This project is realized jointly with the Monterey Institute of International Studies and is aimed both at the specialists in Nuclear Safety, Security and Nonproliferation and at English teachers who can develop and submit their materials and share information and study worksheets for a better understanding of the issues involved and for English teaching for Specific Purposes.
