Contribution to online laboratory implementation and standardization

Over the last years, considerable efforts have been invested in order to share online laboratories between different institutions, to unify online laboratory access architectures and to create centralized online laboratory lists. All these efforts would be eased by means of standard methods for accessing the online laboratories. This need for standardization is growing nowadays, especially due to the increasing usage of smart mobile devices. This paper intends to emphasize the need for online laboratory standardization, by means of examples from the authors´ work, and proposes a minimal set of standard methods for easy access to online laboratories from different platforms. Direct benefits are also presented.
