  • Abstract
In the cognitive radio network [1], the spectrum access mechanism determines the spectrum utilization and the system performance. In this paper, we set up a cognitive radio network scenario with finite primary users and finite secondary users as our simulation model environment. We define a new way by probability anticipation to help secondary users choose a better idle channel when transiting. By comparing the relationship between transition times and final finished services, defined as the transition rate, we finally reach the conclusion that our new spectrum access mechanism is much better than the random access mechanism. Our spectrum access mechanism can finish more services by using the saving time of transition delays, and thus will have a better system throughput comparing with random access mechanism. So probability anticipation access mechanism will effectively help enhance the system capacity and performance.
