Korean ITS standardization

Intelligent transportation system (ITS) services, provided based on advanced IT technology, tend to require the compatibility and inter-operability in many aspects. Moreover, as many countries across the world have been integrated into one market in this global era, international standards have been spreading at a rapid speed. The ITS standardization project is designed to develop standards to deal with new paradigm changes through its future mid-to long-term development strategy and vision, organize an expanded private standards cooperation system, promote the standardization of domestic road traffic ITS equipment for supporting advances into overseas markets, and conduct international cooperation for standardization among nations. Against this backdrop, this paper deals with Korean ITS Standardization.
