Abstract :
This work presents the methods of generating and measuring pulse electromagnetic fields (including short duration pulse fields) in the context of broadband measurements. Presented most important aspects related to pulse electromagnetic field and it´s parameters referring to typical construction of electromagnetic field (EMF) detector. Showed possibilities and limitations of generating reference pulse field based on present state of knowledge. Authors also presented measurement results of pulse EMF, performed by most common meters, which confirmed theoretical assumptions and the need for development of pulse electromagnetic field standard setups. Analyzed the influence of pulse field parameters on indicated values and proposed the prototype of short and long duration pulse electromagnetic field standard setup, allowing to generate PEMF with shaped envelope (even simulate radar beam). Authors also presented concept of specially designed meter, which allow measuring short duration pulse EMF.
