Abstract :
In this study, we analyze the relation between corner like structures and the corresponding local 3D structure using 3D range data. Namely, we try to find a relation between corner-like local 2D structures and corresponding 3D range data. We consider corner like structures as junctions. Junctions are classified into four classes: Y-junction, arrow-junction, L-junction and T-junction, and for each class, the underlying surface structure is investigated. As a result, we provide results that confirm widely-used assumptions regarding the underlying structure of junctions in the literature.
