Title :
Analytical modeling of non-linear propagation in coherent systems

Abstract :
The GN-model appears as the convergent result of many parallel perturbative approaches. Further investigation is needed to better identify its limitations. There are open problems, such as “Gaussinization” in first span(s). On the other hand, validation so far seems to indicate that it already captures the main features of non-linear propagation in UT systems with good accuracy. Simple approximate analytical formulas are available, that provide clear indications on the dependence of system performance on the main parameters. Overall, the GN-model could provide an effective tool for the analysis and design of UT coherent systems.
