Abstract :
In this paper, a CMOS intelligent light sensing chip for automatic brightness tuning applications is newly proposed. The proposed chip is attractive due to the fact that analog processing circuits and light sensors are integrated. This paper proposes a single chip solution to achieve automatic brightness tuning. By following user´s requirements, the proposed chip can collocate with various DC-DC converters and fit to different artificial light sources. Besides, the current-controlling pulse-width -modulation circuit is proposed to have a widely adjustable duty cycle. The range is from 10% to 95%. This implies that the tuning range of brightness can be larger. All the functions and performance of the proposed CMOS intelligent light sensing chip for automatic brightness tuning applications are successfully tested and proven through measurements. The proposed chip is suitable for light controlling devices, such as devices used on the office.
