Abstract :
Multimode multiband (MMMB) power amplifiers (PA) have been developed for next generation mobile handsets and tablets to increase band coverage while reducing the per band cost and size. Designers face challenges in maintaining power added efficiency while increasing PA bandwidth and linearity. This paper will discuss the motivations that drive MMMB PA development and some of the challenges and considerations that the design engineers face.
