Abstract :
This paper presents a method for sorting and separation of normal oocytes in optically-liquid devices based on optically induced dielectrophoresis. Combining gravity with dielectrophoresis forces induced by dynamic image that is projected from LCD, separation productivity can be increased by reducing the frictional forces acting on oocytes which are large and heavy under the influence of the gravitational field. Increasing the velocity difference between normal and abnormal oocytes can help us to separate normal oocytes. This method can be useful for the development of complex devices for automatic selection of normal embryos.
