Abstract :
Meteorology-the study of atmosphere and its phenomena-dates back to Aristotle and his seminal book Meteorologica (circa 340 B.C.). Even though his philosophy relied on physical observations, he lacked weather instruments and, as a result, his explanations of atmospheric phenomena were speculative. It was only until the availability of instrumentation that meteorology turned genuinely experimental and, therefore, became a modern science.
