Abstract :
A compact ultrawideband (UWB) antenna suitable for wireless universal serial bus (USB) dongle application is presented in this paper. The antenna occupies a small area of 14×25 mm2, which is printed on a 1.6 mm thick FR4 substrate. The small area allows the antenna to be easily employed in a USB dongle to operate as an internal antenna. From the measured results, the 10 dB reflection coefficient bandwidth covers the 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, WiMAX, and wireless USB dongle application bands.
