  • Abstract
    A simple novel compact independent tri-band printed-IFA loaded with inspired metamaterial for WIMAX-WLAN communication applications is presented in this paper. In addition to the regular printed IFA resonance for lower WLAN band, the metamaterial-inspired loading is exploited to create a second resonance for WIMAX band while maintaining the antenna´s small form-factor. The third resonance is created through etching a slot within the ground plane for upper WLAN. The measured S parameters and radiation patterns show that the proposed design is suitable for emerging WLAN and WIMAX applications.
