Abstract :
A simplified vehicle-like structure has been used for preliminary investigations of the likely impact of vehicle bodyshell materials and structures on the unintentional emission of low frequency magnetic fields within electric vehicles. Measured currents on a high voltage battery cable were also used, together with a frequency domain 3D finite element model of the metallic parts of a real vehicle chassis, in order to investigate time-varying electromagnetic field exposure and mitigation strategies for an electric vehicle with dielectric panels.
