Abstract :
A design of a radome-covered slot antenna array based on Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) technology is presented in this paper. The design method consists of the analysis of an isolated radiating element, the synthesis of a linear array, the optimization of a planar array, and the development of a power divider with a transition from a feeding metal waveguide to an SIW. The antenna array is designed using a full-wave electromagnetic solver (CST Microwave Studio) for the operating frequency band 26.5-27.5 GHz. The paper describes simulation results of the antenna array consisting of 10×10 longitudinal slots and simulated and measured results of a fabricated antenna array consisting of 4×4 slots.
