Abstract
In this paper a novel circular antenna array for direction finding in the VHF frequency range is introduced. This antenna array is capable of direction of arrival estimations, although the polarization of the incident wave is unknown, using a multi-polarization beamforming algorithm. The measured results of two different ruggedized prototypes, characterized on a free space antenna test site, correspond very well to the simulated results of 3-D models.
