Abstract :
The application of MIMO technology on new wireless communication standards has increased the importance of the antenna on the final performance of wireless devices. However, it remains unclear how to define a good antenna in practice, since depending on the propagation environment the same antenna design may behave in a very uneven way. In this paper it will be studied the effect that different antennas have over the performance of two LTE phones, when they are exposed to two different SCME-based realistic channel models. Results obtained in conducted tests are also included, so it is possible to evaluate the degradation introduced by the propagation fading and the antennas separately.
