Abstract
In this paper, we present a patch antenna design that uses a ferrimagnetic compound (YIG) as part of its substrate. We investigate its influence on the antenna characteristics under the application of an external magnetic field. It was found that the proper application of the magnetic field changes the antenna resonance and polarization characteristics. The antenna is reconfigured from a single band linear polarized to a dual band circular polarized one, with different polarization sense in each resonance band.
