Abstract
The paper provides insight into design of an advanced choke ring antenna (CRA) for a short-range mm-wave exposure chamber. An original design, suitable for implementation in metallized foam, is proposed. The CRA configuration is optimized to provide a uniform exposure of biological samples positioned close to the antenna aperture. Compared to standard waveguide feeds, a factor of 2 advantage in terms of exposure efficiency is demonstrated.
