Abstract :
This paper deals with the modeling of Programme Making and Special Event receiver frontends. The model´s focus is upon the nonlinear elements inside the first mixer stage. Therefore two versions of Volterra Series models are considered, the truncated Volterra Series Model and the Memory-Polynomial Model, which can be derived from a Volterra Series approach with reduced complexity. The identification of the model´s parameters is achieved by the least-squares method based on measurement data consisting of the nonlinear system´s input- and output-signals. For this purpose application related test-signals are generated, containing several narrow- and wideband signals. A comparative analysis of the models´ quality is done, taking the normalized mean-squared-error (NMSE) and the computational effort into account.
