Abstract :
The paper considers possible actions in energy reduction of lighting systems, at this aim it describes a case history of an advanced light control system designed for a couple of classroom of the University of Rome. The control is organized by adopting a Konnex Standard structure. The control system turns on/off and regulate the lighting output according to the actual presence of activities and to the actual availability of daylighting. In order to associate the energy savings with the costs of installation a first classroom was arranged with a “cheap” solution consisting in “on-off switching” control and not changing the luminaires, a second classroom was arranged with an “expensive” solution consisting in the replacement of the luminaires with a “dimming” control. The architecture includes a supervisory system that allows a remote meter of the energetic values for the two classrooms and for a third one considered as reference case. The paper shows the results of a year of monitoring campaign and compares the results with the preliminary evaluation done by the Standard EN15193 methodology. The goal of the paper is to verify and validate the reference values given on the Standard by actual measurements.
