Abstract
When user entered prefix is matched with existing prefix of the word, most desired word is predicted. This process of recognition of word is called as Word Prediction. As the Braille users are visually impaired, word prediction definitely helps them in achieving the desired word in a comparatively very less time duration. This paper mentions several prefix match techniques. The paper also explains proposed prefix matching approach for word prediction. The technique explained in the paper uses B+ tree to represent the words in hierarchical and sorted fashion. The fastest word prediction can be achieved by applying binary search procedure, which is effectively done using B+ tree. The approach explained in this paper is particularly useful to Braille user in not only achieving the word prediction but also in minimizing the time required to type the whole word.
