Title :
Queue management techniques for avoiding gridlock in NAS-Wide simulations

Abstract :
Compared the performance of four alternative stalemate resolution algorithms on highly-constrained NAS-wide scenarios. Studied Stalemate Resolution alternatives enabling all flights to land successfully without violating sector capacities. Alternatives appeared to be the most viable options. Deterministic and stochastic sector entry logic was implemented. Measured how queuing delays and sector Load Factors would be impacted by allowing sector capacity to be exceeded with a linearly-reducing probability function.
