Abstract :
The most challenging issue in heterogeneous radio access technologies (HRATs) is providing ubiquitous communication and enabling the users to use the best available network anywhere at anytime. To cope with this issue, network selection decision is intended to select the optimal available network in terms of quality of service (QoS) for mobile users. In this paper we propose network selection mechanism based on two multi attribute decision making (MADM) methods namely multiple analytic hierarchy process (M-AHP) and grey relational analysis (GRA) method. The M-AHP is used to weigh each criterion and GRA is used to rank the alternatives. Simulation results are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of our new mechanism for network selection.
