Abstract
CR-39 is one of the important materials. It has been used as Solid State Nuclear Track Detector (SSNTD). We have presented effect of Solar irradiation on Pre and post 241Am irradiated CR-39. We have shown that the effect of solar exposure saturates after 20 hrs and its capability of alpha detection decreases. In this investigation we have also calculated band gap from absorbance curves and showed that the variation in band gaps of the material is not linear with radiation exposure. Moreover, the effect of these radiations on track diameters is also presented.
