Abstract :
A circular patch antenna with guided ground plane is presented in this paper. This antenna is designed to cover the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) bandwidth for ultrawideband (UWB) applications (3.1-10.6 GHz). The guided circular patch antenna is compared with the circular patch antenna with truncated ground plane, indicating that the radiation pattern is more directive especially at higher frequencies. Also, The return loss in some frequency ranges are better than 15 dB between 3 GHz and 10 GHz.
