Abstract :
This paper considers the spatial distribution and evolvement of low income households in urban public housing. Base on Geographic Information System (GIS) environment and Kernel Density Estimation, this paper (1) calculates the results of kernel density estimation of households living in public housing, (2)makes spatial distribution analysis in multi-spatial scale, year change and market comparison, (3) makes buffer analysis for examining the public housing households whether easily accessible to rapid transits. This methodology uses the public housing of Wuhan in China as case study and collects public housing related data from 1995 to 2008.
