Reconstruction strategies of home culture in cross-cultural translation teaching

This paper focuses on the problems of “lack of home culture” and reconstruction strategies of home culture in translation teaching. Translation teaching is a kind of cross-cultural activity and it should not simply provide students opportunities to learn and know about target culture, it should also fulfill the task of transmitting their own home culture, which is one of objectives for translation teaching. The study of this thesis will improve the understanding of culture, cross-cultural communication as well as communicative competence in translation teaching, thus promoting the development of culture teaching. Besides, it may also contribute to the improvement of students´ comprehensive ability and the realization of the ultimate goal of culture teaching.
