Abstract
The dielectric response of XLPE and its composites containing nanosilica was investigated over a wide span of frequencies ranging between 10-5 and 106 Hz. To that end, measurements in the frequency domain using BDS and polarization/depolarization experiments were used. Complementarity of the experimental methods was successfully demonstrated. The adjunct of a small nanosilica phase (5 wt%) was found to have only a slight effect on the dielectric response, except at low frequency, where interfacial polarization now plays a role.
