Abstract :
This paper aims at presenting the development and implementation of an approach to deal with Optimal Meters Allocation problem, looking for monitoring voltage sags and swells in Power networks. The problem is modeled as a classic problem of covering. The technique used was based on implementation of Greedy Randomized Adaptive Search Procedure GRASP and other based in Variable Neighborhood Search VNS. With this hybrid approach we found good quality solutions in short timeframes when compared with other studies in the literature. We present the results for two networks, one of the IEEE 30 bus and other real network of 154 bars.
