Abstract
Channel-modeling uncertainties may affect the performance of spectrum sensing in cognitive-radio applications. Negative effects of these uncertainties may be mitigated by an appropriate choice of the sensor operation. We show how the use of a linear-quadratic detector can improve the performance of both linear and quadratic spectrum sensors. The robustness to model uncertainties of the linear-quadratic detector is studied using moment-bound theory.
