Abstract :
60 GHz technology is increasingly popular owing to its wide unlicensed spectrum resources and the support of numerous commercial giants. Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is a promising technology for 60 GHz application. In this paper, we propose an improved pilot design based on the IEEE 802.11.ad standard and give the corresponding channel estimation method suitable for 60 GHz OFDM scheme. It is shown that the channel estimation method is particularly effective in slowly time-varying channel when signal to noise ratio (SNR) is high. The method is not sensitive to the change of frame length and can even work in a fast time-varying channel.
