Abstract :
This paper presents the development of a temperature sensor based on fiber Bragg gratings (FBG), which is demodulated using the FBG fixed filter technique. The sensor response is given in terms of optical intensity, which is proportional to the intersection between spectra of both sensor and fixed filter gratings. The main goals of this sensing scheme are to reduce the cost of the demodulation system and the enhancement of the capability ofoutdoor implementation.
